We Care
Caring for an aging loved one is not always easy, especially when you don’t have reliable information on the resources and supports that are available. The Area Agency on Aging of Pasco – Pinellas is here to support you on your journey of caregiving.
Learn about Caregiving
After his dad’s stroke, Mark has taken on assisting with basic daily errands, and being the “go to” for medical appointments. He has felt overwhelmed and doesn’t know where to turn to find resources for both him and his father. The AAAPP can help – find out how.
Taking Time for Yourself
Even though she has spent her career as a nurse and understands the medical side of caregiving, Judy has had a hard time dealing with the added burden that comes with a full time job and caring for a loved one. Thankfully, after reaching out to the AAAPP Judy was able to find some free community resources that have given her opportunities to rest, and take a little time for herself each week so that she can better care for her loved ones.
Staying Healthy Mentally & Emotionally
Marco has learned how to live a full life with his disability physically, but he still has days where he feels “down in the dumps” and struggles to adjust mentally. He knows this has an effect on his spouse, as well. When Marco called the Agency, we were able to point him and his family members to a variety of services that helped to get his mental state to match up to how he was feeling physically.
Dementia Diagnosis And What’s Next
Receiving a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s affected not only Ana but her whole network of family and friends. Thankfully, Ana found supports for herself and her family through the AAAPP.
